Mile High Clothing Co. loves the protection of our environment and the pursuit of science. Our tax dollars fund institutions like NOAA and NASA. As a result, the data and images derived from their work are open to the public.
To make use of some of that material we have produced garments and stationery using images from tax-funded studies. The imagery is stunning, the work behind it enriched our understanding of the universe/environment, and it reminds us that science and education are important parts of our society.
What is Sublimation?
Dye sublimation printing is a newer full color and edge to edge coverage printing technique. The artwork is printed onto a sheet of high-release paper and transferred onto the white garment using heat and pressure. The heat turns the dye into a gas (sublimation) where it moves over onto the polyester fibers. Unlike silkscreen, the dye absorbs into the fiber.
